Ladies Sodality
Join the fun and fellowship at our monthly Ladies’ Sodality gatherings! Open to all ladies of the Parish, we come together to connect, support, and make a positive impact in our church community. Our highlight of the year? The Fall Bazaar! Enjoy the thrill of a big yard sale, savor delicious fish dinners, shop unique handmade crafts, grab some fresh-baked goodies, and enter our exciting raffle! The proceeds help us support the church, provide assistance to those in need, and bring beauty to our worship space with Christmas and Easter flowers. Plus, Sodality is honored to host receptions, church events, and refreshment tables for Bible school. Come be a part of this wonderful group where faith and friendship flourish!

What is an annulment?
An annulment, formally called “a declaration of nullity,” is an official declaration by the Roman Catholic Church that a marriage did not meet the requirements for validity. Validity means that the desired outcome (in this case, marriage) has actually taken place as recognized by the Church.
Although to all outward appearances, a wedding was properly celebrated (the vows were recited before the priest in a Catholic church, etc.), there is much more needed for the wedding to be understood as a sacred union. For instance, the internal dispositions of the parties and a proper understanding of what marriage is all about are also requirements for a valid marriage.
This determination is based on a thorough examination of the marriage in question by the local diocesan tribunal. The tribunal–the formal name for a church court–looks at information submitted by one or both of the former spouses to see if all the requirements for a valid marriage were present in their union.
Parish of St. John the Baptist is Looking for Volunteers!
Share your gifts and talents with the church. St. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12: “There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
There is room in our parish for everyone who is willing to serve! We need volunteers in many roles, including lectors, commentators, ushers, cooks, cleaners, altar servers, maintenance, and teachers. Both the Pastoral Council and the Finance Council also welcome volunteer members.
If you’re interested, please call the office or email us at [email protected]. We look forward to having you share your time and talents!
